STONINGTON, CT – Horses Healing Humans, an Accredited Therapeutic Horsemanship facility, announces a new outreach program called Ambassadorable.

The Ambassadorable is Lulu, a 13-year-old Miniature horse completing her pet therapy certification as she begins her Outreach Ambassdor assignments. Due to her docile and friendly nature, Lulu is visiting assisted living homes, veteran centers, schools, nursing homes, hospice centers, support groups, and other facilities to introduce people to equine-assisted activities and therapy. Lulu is completing her certification with the Delta Society, which certifies therapy animals.

At 34 inches tall, or 8.5 hands, Lulu is the ideal height for interactions such as nuzzling, being hugged, and allowing people to groom her. Other activities are available, depending on the needs and abilities of the group Lulu is visiting.

The Ambassadorable sessions are 60 minute meet-and-greets which are available free of charge. Extended programs of up to six weeks of weekly visits are also available. They can also take place by appointment at Horses Healing Human's facility in Stonington.

Equine therapy is an alternate form of therapy to treat autism, depression, PTSD, trauma, and other issues. People who participate in equine therapy may experience increased social and communication skills, confidence, relaxation, connection to others, trust, and general improvements in well-being.
