Voltaire Design Named "Official Saddle" of 2018 Lake Placid Horse Shows Also Title Sponsor of $30,000 Voltaire Design Jumper Classic
Lake Placid, NY - March 05, 2018 - The Lake Placid Horse Shows welcome French saddle-maker Voltaire Design as a new sponsor and the exclusive "Official Saddle" of the 2018 Lake Placid Horse Shows. The new $30,000 Voltaire Design Jumper Classic will be held on Friday, June 29 during the 49th annual Lake Placid Horse Show which runs June 26 - July 1, followed by the I Love New York Horse Show, July 3-8, at the North Elba Showgrounds in Lake Placid, New York.
"We are thrilled to be coming to Lake Placid for the first time as a sponsor and the 'Official Saddle' of the Lake Placid Horse Shows," said Brice Goguet, President and Founder of Voltaire Design Inc. "Our goal is not only to sell high-end products to our customers, but to work with each rider to create a product that will help improve their riding. We are really looking forward to supporting riders at Lake Placid and watching them compete in the $30,000 Voltaire Design Jumper Classic!"
Innovative and decidedly chic, Voltaire Design specializes in upscale custom saddles and is the first saddle maker to get help from the fashion industry in the design of its products. Recognizable by their signature blue striped gullet, Voltaire Design saddles are made in France with the finest French leathers and are infinitely customizable.
The Voltaire Design saddle line includes the Blue Wing Smart Saddle that features Smartride™, a revolutionary smart tree and panel technology developed by Olympic Gold medalist Tad Coffin. It's also the first-ever connected saddle. Equisense technology allows Blue Wing to track the time spent at each gait and at each direction, as well as the rhythm and the quality of the symmetry of your horse. Among other things, the mobile application will allow you to view the calendar of your sessions and have information on the intensity of each session, including how many jumps each horse had during each session.
Voltaire Design is also the first environmentally-friendly saddler in the world. Blue Wing is made of an innovative eco-friendly leather that is tanned without chrome in order to best protect the environment.
Also, for every Voltaire Design saddle purchased, the company plants one tree as a contribution to the global effort implemented by the United Nations Programme for Environment's campaign to plant a billion trees.
"We are delighted to welcome Voltaire Design to the Lake Placid Horse Shows family as a new sponsor and as our 'Official Saddle!'" said Lori Martin, Executive Director of the Lake Placid Horse Show Association. "It is a world-class company that produces exceptional products and will be great addition to our horse shows."
The Lake Placid Horse Shows is one of the premier stops on the nation's hunter-jumper horse show circuit, hosting two weeks of world-class competition for all levels, ranging from young children on ponies to grand prix competitors and Olympic medalists. Each show is USEF 'AA' rated for hunters and 6* rated for Jumpers and offers more than 100 classes of competition. The action is non-stop, with many of the nation's top horses and riders competing in four show rings for over $530,000 in prize money!
Highlighting the competition is the $75,000 Prevost Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix on Sunday, July 1 as well as the $100,000 Great American Insurance Group Grand Prix on Saturday, July 7, the show will also include the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Presented by Eastern Hay & Purina Animal Nutrition on Sunday, July 8.
The Lake Placid Horse Shows are also adding a new 1.20-meter division to provide new competition opportunities for young horses, younger riders, older amateur riders or anyone who wants to step up into the jumper ranks. The $5,000 division classic will be held in the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field.
There is also wide array of family activities from which to choose in the Lake Placid region, making it the ideal vacation spot for families coming to the horse shows. Outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, boating, cycling, paddling, rock climbing and swimming. There is also a great variety of shops and restaurants.
