Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga Named"Official Equine Hospital" of 2018 Lake Placid Horse Shows
Lake Placid, NY - February 5, 2018 - Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga, a state-of-the-art full-service equine hospital, has returned as a sponsor of this year's Lake Placid Horse Shows and has been exclusively named the "Official Equine Hospital" of the 2018 Lake Placid Horse Shows. The Lake Placid Horse Show will run June 26 - July 1 and the I Love New York Horse Show will follow, July 3-8 at their world-class venue in Lake Placid, New York.

Rood & Riddle in Saratoga is a full-service equine hospital providing services in elective and emergency surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, ambulatory, podiatry, reproduction, sport horse medicine and laboratory. Last year the state-of-the art facility was expanded to twice its size and now includes two surgical suites, three anesthesia induction and recovery stalls, nuclear scintigraphy, a radiology suite, a laboratory and an ambulatory garage. The hospital also includes a four-stall temperature controlled nuclear scintigraphy building as well. In addition to the new facilities, the original building was renovated to increase office and storage space for the 11 veterinarians and 12 support staff.

The Lake Placid Horse Shows is one of the premier stops on the nation's hunter-jumper horse show circuit, hosting two weeks of world-class competition for all levels, ranging from young children on ponies to grand prix competitors and Olympic medalists. Each show is USEF 'AA' rated for hunters and 6* rated for Jumpers and offers more than 100 classes of competition. The action is non-stop, with many of the nation's top horses and riders competing in four show rings for over $530,000 in prize money!
Highlighting the competition is the $75,000 Prevost Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix of Lake Placid on Sunday, July 1 as well as the $100,000 Great American Insurance Group I Love New York Grand Prix on Saturday, July 7, the show will also include the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Presented by Eastern Hay & Purina Animal Nutrition on Sunday, July 8.
In addition to the thrilling equestrian competition, the Lake Placid Horse Shows offers some of the best shopping in the Adirondacks in the vendor area. Local Adirondack artists, products, clothing and apparel are featured, as well as real estate, photography, a variety of equine related shops, a booth with official Lake Placid Horse Shows commemorative sportswear, and many selections of culinary delights. Admission to the horse show is $2.00 on weekdays and $5.00 on weekend days. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free. Discounts for groups of 20 or more.
There is also wide array of family activities from which to choose in the Lake Placid region, making it the ideal vacation spot for families coming to the horse shows. Outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, boating, cycling, paddling, rock climbing and swimming. There is also a great variety of shops and restaurants.
