Matthew Metell may have been away from the Hampton Classic for the past two years, but he made himself right at home Tuesday morning in the grand prix ring, taking the win in the $10,000 Jaguar Open Jumper class with his grey mare, Donchalant, over the course designed by Alan Wade of Tipperary, Ireland.

As before, Dressage4Kids is sponsoring this event, but it is open to all ages and all disciplines of riding, with presentations from experts bringing the latest information on subjects that affect horses, their training, and health.

Animal Adoption Day celebrated its seventh year at the Hampton Classic Monday, with rescue dogs, cats and horses from a variety of animal rescues and shelters on Long Island and beyond.
Participating rescues for small animals were Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Last Chance Animal Rescue, Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue, Happy Tails Dog Rescue, Second Chance Rescue, Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and Tails of Courage.
100+ WOMEN WHO CARE - LOWER CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY PRESENT TO RAY OF LIGHT FARM’S VETERANS PROGRAM
Horse Feathers, the veterans’ program at Ray of Light Farm, was recently the beneficiary of the Lower Connecticut River Valley’s chapter of 100+ Women Who Care. Eight of their members met at Ray of Light Farm in Haddam to present 54 checks totalling over $5,300 to Bonnie Buongiorne, the farm’s founder and director.
